I missed a deadline/exam because I was ill - what should I do?
If you have missed the hand-in date for an assignment due to illness or personal problems and you think you can hand the work in soon, you may be able to ask for a coursework extension. To do this, you should hand the completed assignment in within 10 working days (15 if you're a post grad) of the original deadline along with a coursework extension form (available from the Advice Centre) and independent evidence of the illness/problem. If successful, this means your work will be marked without being capped at 40%.
If you don't think 10 working days will be enough, or if you've missed an exam, you may be able to claim Exceptional Extenuating Circumstances after the results are published. Pick up a form from the Advice Centre or your faculty office. If successful, you will be able to do the work again without it being capped at 40%.
