Level 1, The Union Building, City North Campus (Perry Barr)

This fantastic venue offers everything you ever wanted and more from an on campus Union Bar!

Located on the ground floor of the Union building, Bar 42 offers a full menu with a great selection of food as well as pool tables, games machines and a good atmosphere throughout the day. It is also the place to have a few drinks before a big night out during the week. Bar 42 is home to Toons every Friday night which is Birmingham City University's biggest, best and most banging night of the week. The night kicks off with the grooves of our resident DJ who loves to play all the latest and greatest tunes!!

Toons serves up all the latest hits and classics you could think of, not to mention throwing in the odd party game, prize give away and special guest appearance for good measure. Also look out for special themed Toons throughout the year. You’ve definitely come to the best night in town!

Bar 42 is open Monday - Thursday 11am – 11pm
Friday open 11am - 3am for Toons. May also open later at weekends for special events.

Lounge…

Seacole Building, Edgbaston Campus, Westbourne Road

Lounge… is the Union’s newest bar and is located at Edgbaston Campus about a minutes walk from the halls of residence.

With the very comfy chairs and the relaxing vibe this bar promises to be a fantastic place to hang out in between lectures. At night time the bar has the ability to become a banging venue with a dance floor or a place to socialise and meet new friends. With a massive range of drinks from juices and smoothies to coffees and alcohol this is going to be a great venue throughout the whole of the day!

Village Inn

College Road, Hamstead

Village Inn is located in amongst the halls of residence at Hamstead. It has a real community feel and is one of the best places you can go to socialise in the evenings. This cosy pub is the perfect place to relax with your friends or get in the mood for a great night out. With pool tables and the addition of a ‘snug’ with a second TV screen, Village Inn is a real home from home.

The sports centre, situated just off College Road

Home to many of our great sports teams - it is the perfect place to celebrate those sporting victories throughout the year. The Union often put on nights here too which you should keep an eye out for.

The Conservatoire Bar

Located inside the Conservatoire building, just off Broad Street

Mainly used for pre-concert and interval drinks. If you are watching or playing in a show, it’s really handy just to be able to pop in for a drink.

Café Direct

Located on Level 2 of the Union Building in City North Campus (Perry Barr)

Café Direct promotes fair trade and serves an array of hot drinks all day along with tasty hot and cold snacks ideal for lunch or just as a treat! Café Direct is perfect whether you are in a rush or have the time for a leisurely break.
